And a hot sauce recipe!

Today, we went fishing and made hot sauce with PapaJinx. We caught nothing, but had fun.

But even better, we invented a great hot sauce that I now need to share.

1 ripe mango

1/2 a papaya (about half a pound)

6 dried ancho chilies (remove stem)

2 large dried guajillo peppers (remove stem)

4 medium jalapenos (remove stem)

half cup boiling water

salt to taste

1 head of garlic

1 tablespoon cayenne

3 tablespoons of chopped white onion

4 oz of lemon juice

juice from 1 lime

2 oz apple cider vinegar.

Sterilized glass jar (we ended up with about 15 oz)

So:

In a blender, blend the dried peppers and then add boiling water. Wait 2 minutes. Add all other ingredients, blend it really well (we let it go in a Ninja for 2 minutes on 2nd speed).

Taste it and add what every else is needed (we added some salt and more lemon juice)

Strain through mesh to get solids out. Put in pan, bring to a boil and then let settle for 20 mins.

Bottle and set aside for 2 weeks before using it.

We're calling it Danger Zone. Starts out sweet, but has suuch a kick!

And then we made smores with Maria cookies.
