Hi Hivemind, I'm a soon-to-be college graduate who is clueless about how to find a job. I go to a top-tier school that is really good for placing students in consulting/finance jobs but leaves the humanities students—like me—to sink or swim. Our job database is kind of a joke and I failed to take advantage of career fairs. My clinical depression was in full swing in the fall/winter so I'm really behind on finding something.
I'm an English major with a minor in psychology. Playwriting is my passion but I realize there is no money in that so I'm going to pursue it in my spare time. I'm interested in journalism (hahaha, also no money), marketing, HR, publishing, [insert humanities oriented job]. I've checked out a few databases like mediabistro but I'm not having a ton of luck.
TL;DR. How did you find your job? I'm especially interested in post-grad stories and advice from people with similar career interests or who also pursue a creative passion on the side.
P.S. Any advice on how to go home without a job without feeling like a loser is also appreciated...
