So I'm a professional writer, and I spend a chunk of my time turning commas into proper semicolons, and now that Merriam-Webster has included the figurative definition of "literal" I was thinking about my biggest pet peeve in English, which is the use of "it's" in the possessive.

It's really not a difficult rule but I see fucking PROFESSIONAL magazines and news sources doing it. People who should know better. I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme, but it irks me.

What are some of your pet peeves, GTers? What small, insignificant things stick in your craw and make you irritated for no good reason?
