I’ve been thinking about using the current COVID downtime to get back into reading - I used to be an absolutely voracious reader before grad school, but reading so many scientific journal articles kinda killed my enthusiasm for reading because they’re all terribly written.
But I’ve been going back and forth about whether I want to primarily just buy good ol’ paperbacks, or if I want to dip my toe into tablet reading. The thing is, I’ve never been a big tablet user - I have an ancient ipad that I only ever use to watch videos before bed if I have trouble falling asleep. But nowadays with lockdown, I find myself kind of wanting a tablet so I can still have the internet while not being confined to the single room where my computer resides.
So I guess I’m just wondering if any voracious readers out there actually like reading on tablets? Or at least can tolerate it? Obviously it has its advantages, but I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who didn’t just prefer to be holding a paperback.
(I mean if it’s not obvious, I think I mostly just want to buy a tablet and it would be nice to have that justification that I’m going to have a surefire productive use for it like reading instead of just goofing off on the internet)
