I remember the case and read articles and interviews through the years. I was watching tonight up to the murders.
There seemed to be contradictions. The brothers said they had no freedoms and were controlled yet they got involved with friends to rob houses.
Also the wig story seemed odd. Both brothers seemed vain about their looks. I can imagine when the oldest hair was thinning wanting a wig. The idea the father forced him to wear one makes little sense I imagine the oldest wanted to cover thinning hair.
They claimed the killing was about their father sexually abusing them. Yet they killed the mother. The mother who was planning on cutting them out of the will. So did they kill the parents for two different reasons? Or was the abuse a ruse to gain sympathy from jury?
I lean towards the conclusion they were two spoiled entitled young men who thought killing the parents would result in a huge payday and if caught use sexual abuse as a way out of jail. Of course the oldest wrote a story about killing for inheritance money,.not bright. The killing of the mother for me cemented the fact this was all about money. Even if sexual abuse part was true there was no.need to kill the mother except for money. I know we are suppose to believe until proven otherwise a sex abuse victim. To me the killing of the mother throws that claim out the window.
Maybe its me not being able to handle the idea of killing the father for his abuse and the mother for the money. The idea seems fantastical.
I know this sounds cruel but I cannot gather sympathy for them if the claim.is true. I feel sympathy for the children they were yet killing the mother any sympathy ends. Although I do not understand how killing the father was self defense.
Every instinct tells me they used sexual abuse as a get out of jail free card and probably harmed real victims by creating doubt in their truthfulness.
I still find it unfathomable both brothers got married while serving life.
