The other day I missed out on contributing to the lovely thoughts you all shared in Wax Tadpole's post regarding thoughtful discussion about religion. Today, when the question of which sites have the worst commenters segued into a discussion of places with good commenting communities, I ended up mentioning a couple of blogs I keep coming back to as much for the standard of comments as the original posts. And then, I went on one of those blogs and saw both things come together. . .
I hereby present a thing of beauty: Erudite, respectful, really damn interesting and funny comments on religion as a topic . . . with a fannish bent. It's a short history of the formation of the Christian scriptural canon and early church history as Fan Wank. Read the essay, stay for the comments.
