I was recently introduced to ASMR. It is defined as: a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli. The nature and classification of the ASMR phenomenon is controversial.
I personally feel affected by specific sounds, soft speaking and other sounds. My current favorite ASMR'er is asmraurette. Her voice soothes me.
I went through listening to all her videos recently and came across this on. ASMR aside, the passage she read by bell hooks is amazing. It's about love. What love means. And why we are afraid of truly trying to define it because it may mean that we have never been loved by anyone. I connect to this so well. It's a little sad because of what it may mean about my past relationships and even my family. But it makes me feel so certain of my intense, equal love I share with my husband. Please enjoy this in the background if you are working, or lay in bed and enjoy. TW for spousal/domestic/family abuse in the video.
