Just putting this on everyone’s radar. Seems like they’re going to try to go after Obamacare again before the 100 day deadline. (Heads up - autoplay video because garbage cable news website).
I’m fairly certain all the bloviating about having to leave healthcare alone was more about Trump/Ryan trying to be “right” about how it was “now or never” with that stupid bill they tried to pass before. Then you mix in a little of Trump’s flip-flopping based on who is whispering in his hairy senile ear, and that explains all the mystery about their intentions.
From the link (emphasis mine):
“I don’t think it’s impossible to think we’ll have a vote,” a senior administration official said optimistically. But the official cautioned that some GOP House members are still at odds over some of the bill’s sticking points.
“I don’t think it’s having to rewrite the bill. It’s just a total trust gap. As soon as we solve that, we can have a vote,” the official said.
Be that as it may, politicians would not support the bill in large part because people were going berserk about it. Some Negative Nancys like to point out that it didn’t pass because it wasn’t conservative enough, and that’s true, but then when they moved it right, it lost the more moderate Republicans.
I don’t believe for one second that they are all above sneaking that shit through if they think the voters aren’t paying attention.
We will be.
