I've finally managed to break a life long habit!!
My mom grew up on a farm with 6 siblings. From there, she was sent to a convent with about 50 women. From there, a missionary post where she lived with about 30 people.
Then, back to my grandparents and 3 new siblings. Then, she got married, moved to the US and met my dad's even bigger family.
By the time I was born, there was no way she could conceive of cooking for just 4 people.
Portions were huge and there are always leftovers. This December, she finally managed to make a salad that was just enough.
And now I've yet again one upped her!!
I was finally able to cook for me and GuyJinx today and there will be no leftovers!
Collards with pork, rice, and a salad. I mean, yeah, the collards were the same we had for lunch, but I purposefully made enough to last the day.
WOOT! WOOT! No wasted food.
Next, I'll finally succeed in not using 5 spoons when I make 1 dish.
I can't be the only one who has weird, bad habits when it comes to cooking...am I?
