I can’t see my boyfriend every weekend, and I have pretty consistent and light work hours. Therefore, I have lots of time to fill.

One best friend is married and works crazy hours, so she is hard to get a hold of and see.

Other best friend works crazy hours and filling the rest of her time with a new, getting-serious relationship, so she is also hard to get a hold of and see.

We all live within 30 minutes of each other, and I’m lucky to see them once every two months.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am definitely a relationship person and love being with my partner, but even then, I ALWAYS make time for my friends. They provide something for me that boyfriends can’t, and it’s valuable.

I’m bitter that friendships get pushed aside and taken for granted when life gets busy. They need as much tending as other relationships if they’re going to survive and thrive.
