Got my test results back from the doctor today. The good news is: I’m not anemic, I don’t have thyroid issues, my blood sugar is normal, my insulin is normalish (slightly elevated but not out of a healthy range but it could be stress) my progesterone is normal, my doctor isn’t suspecting PCOS, and my kidney and liver function is healthy. Turns out my estrogen is high and my testosterone is elevated too, which are the likely cause of my PMDD mood swings and physical symptoms.

She suggested I give low dose birth control a shot to see if it helps level me out and reduce my PMDD symptoms, so we’re going to do that, and I’m making some lifestyle changes to help as well. Just glad I know what’s going on so I can take steps to fix it.

Also, thank you for the kind comments on my post about my granddad yesterday. It’s been a really tough few months and it’s one day at a time. I’m going to go visit him this weekend and hopefully gain some clarity about things.
