Okay you guys, here's where we are after last night's conversation:
1) Friday seems to be the best night for everyone. Would this Friday be too soon? Would next Friday (the 18th) be better? (I'm definitely free this Friday, but won't know about next Friday a little later this week).
2) What time would we want to aim for? I honestly haven't been out a lot in Boston, so I don't know what times things get swinging. I think if we want to get together and hang out, it should be after dinner but before the Friday night party crowd comes out. What time seems good for you guys?
3)These were some of the spots suggested:
—Saloon in Davis Square: I passed by it today and it's pretty hard to find and doesn't seem super big. I've never been in, so I don't know what it's like but some of the yelp reviewers say it's small and expensive. I do like Davis Square, so if anyone knows a better place in Davis, I'm up for it. Accessible by transit, not sure about parking, but it's usually not too difficult to find parking in Davis.
—Christopher's in Porter: I've only been downstairs, it's usually crowded, but I guess they have an upstairs too...I'm not sure what the deal with it is though. The burgers are good and the beers are good too. Accessible by transit, not sure about parking.
—Church in Fenway: I went by today and it's a lot bigger than I thought. Last time I was there, we were just on the patio. It's nice and not outrageously priced. I don't know how busy it gets on a Friday night, but it's close to Kenmore and has its own parking lot.
Feel free to chime in with better suggestions.
