By 2015 film makers will have to meet quotas on diversity of cast and crew in order to secure BFI Lottery funding.

Although sometimes I find quotas a bit clunky, I have no problem with this, if you look at the full criteria there are many options to pick from (so it's not just "every film must have a black female lead"). And it will hopefully get the ball rolling and inspire actors and crew alike. Actually I am pleasantly surprised that the measures also apply off-screen (to crew, writers, etc).
