Did you know Burt Reynolds appeared in an episode of the Twilight Zone? It's true.
Burt was featured in an episode that debuted during the fourth season of the iconic sci-fi show. Titled “The Bard,” the episode, which premiered on May 23, 1963, features a frustrated screenwriter who finds a magical book. The book allows him to conjure the assistance of famous writers and historical figures, including Ben Franklin, George Washington, Daniel Boone and of course, William Shakespeare.
Reynolds play Rocky Rhodes (I WILL NAME MY FIRST BORN CHILD THIS), a smug actor who the screenwriter has to contend with. Written by Rod Serling, the episode is also significant in “Twilight Zone” lore, because it is the last full 60-minute episode to be featured as part of the regular series.
Watch Burt’s scene here, doing what can only be described as the most amazing Marlon Brando impersonation ever.
