Happy Saturday! What's your plan for the weekend?
Chez Honey, we've made it through the first week of Homey's recovery after surgery for his broken leg. Sadly, I've snapped at him more than a few times but, overall, it's gone ok. We've figured out our rhythm, I think, and the perfect pillow configuration now comes naturally t us both, so that's good.
Today, he's lounging in bed and I'm watching Cary Fukunaga's Jane Eyre (if you're interested, it's leaving Netflix at the end of the month so check it out soon!), drinking tea, and eating chocolate chip cookies for breakfast.
You all remember, Fukunaga's the creator of True Detective so the movie is really pretty. I've been meaning to watch it forever and it's nice to have a lazy Saturday morning to do it on.
After the movie, I have a ton of housecleaning to do and I need to cook a bunch of stuff so we can eat well next week.
Today, I'll be making minestrone, veggie lasagna, veggie pot pie, and curried lentil, potato, and cauliflower soup.
It will be a very, very busy day but, thankfully, there's a lot of overlap in the veggies used for those dishes, so I can use all the produce I buy at once and, after one big veggie chopping orgy, it's all relatively simple to throw together (ok, lasagna's time-consuming but everything else...).
Your turn! What are the fantastic things you're doing, eating, reading, watching this weekend?
