I was talking with some researchers last week about my childhood extra curriculars, and I guess they were kind of unusual (I think in the type and amount)? I was surprised because I definitely didn’t do an unusual amount compared to my peers (I grew up in silicon valley - definitely super competitive, so everyone college bound did a ton - plus many of us had dual-income families, so we had to have things to do after school and during the summer). And I would have thought that, given the caliber of my current institution, that I would be amongst people who had already won nobel prizes by age 10.
So, I thought I would ask all of you what your extra curriculars were in grade school through - high school? College? Whatever. Include jobs you did, if you like. I’m interested to learn what you all did as young’uns.
