...unless you already knew this recipe and didn't share it with me, in which case you're dead to me.
I love fudge. It's one of my favorite things in the world. But I rarely have it, because it's expensive as hell to buy, and very labor intensive to make. I remember making it with my grandma as a kid and just standing over a hot pot stirring and stirring as it got thicker and my arm got sore. And the magical candy thermometer that made all the difference. I don't even own a candy thermometer, guys. I am too damn lazy to bother with any recipe that calls for a candy thermometer.
Well, I just discovered the lazy gal's way to make fudge. Empty a bag of chocolate chips into a bowl. Empty a can of sweetened condensed milk (nectar of the gods) into that bowl. Microwave for 3 minutes, stopping to stir every minute. Empty into a receptacle of your choosing. I chose a buttered 8"x8" baking dish. Leave it out to set or pop it in the fridge for a bit to set quicker.
Boom. You have fudge that was not expensive and was quick and easy enough that you could make it during commercial breaks. Just in time for that holiday party that you promised to bring a dessert for before remembering that you do not have the time or energy to make desserts for a party. (Or if you're me, for making at 1am to eat while watching Buffy on Netflix, because I'm pms-ing and home alone, so I'll do what I want.) You're welcome.
