The temperatures have finally turned to cold and I am pretty much in heaven. It's not frigid yet, there's no snow, so it is the perfect time of year. You get to wear boots and layers. So many things to love, including the foods that feel just right for the cool weather.
I have been big on making soups lately: kale, white bean and sausage; pistou stew, black bean soup. I also have the urge to bake, so I might try and dig up a recipe for a crusty bread to accompany soup or try and find a good recipe for perfect soft ginger cookies (I'd call them gingersnaps, but I don't actually want the "snap" texture).
What foods do you turn to in the cold? Any good recipes to share?
