Welcome To The Bitchery

Companies We Avoid and Why

A friend on Facebook linked to an article in Out magazine which talked about how CVS is (1) being dickbags to female employees who use birth control and (2) donated to the 2020 Trump re-election campaign.

Included in that article is this paragraph -

“However, Equinox, Soul Cycle, and CVS aren’t the only companies that have recently faced backlash for financial connections to the president’s reelection bid. Others include Versace, Estee Lauder, Revlon, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Marvel Entertainment. Marvel Chairman and former CEO Isaac Perlmutter is a longtime friend of the president’s, reportedly donating almost $6 million to Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns.”

I had no idea about Estee Lauder. Looks like when that bottle of DoubleWear foundation runs out I’m going to a different brand. I don’t eat Wendy’s, so that changes nothing for me, but I do sometimes eat Taco Bell. Time to find another option.

Which leads me to the point that collectively, I bet we all know of a business or two that we avoid for a good reason, but that others have no clue about. Let’s share the knowledge.

Home Depot’s CEO supported Trump in 2016.

I remember someone saying Modcloth is now owned by Walmart.
