I went to a show last night for a band that I'm not that into (but the bf loves), so I spent more time watching the crowd than getting lost in the music. In my observations I spotted several elements that I've come to expect at concerts:

- Sweaty drummers. I get that drumming is hard work and the stage lights are hot, but only one of the three drummers was smart enough to wear a dark shirt to hide the sweat stains. Also, as the photo demonstrates, drummers' faces often resemble orgasm faces.

-Plaid. This is a double cliche because we're in Seattle, birthplace of grunge, plus there's that whole '90s revival going on.

-Pushers. Most people who want to stand close to the stage realize that this means arriving on time and waiting through the opening acts. But there are always a few special snowflakes who wait for the headliner and then shove their way to the front. Last night this special snowflake took the form of a Hot Mess dragging her boyfriend through the crowd. Seattleites are a fairly passive bunch, so no one called her on her shit, though much grumbling and eye-rolling followed in the Hot Mess's wake. I'm not sure why she was so eager to reach the front because she seemed more interested in making out with her boyfriend than watching the show. Eventually her boyfriend tired of her shenanigans and left, so she followed him outside wailing something unintelligible.

-Cameras. Do these photos and videos ever turn out well? I would rather just watch the show and rely on my memory. Bonus points to the guy who shoved his phone in front of my face, so he could get the perfect angle for his masterpiece.

-Outerwear. It is well known that we in Seattle love our Gore-Tex. And it was raining last night, so it makes sense that everyone was in raincoats and fleeces. HOWEVER, it was HOT in that concert, but apparently we're all too cheap to use the coat check because most people left their jackets on.

What concert cliches do your guys enjoy or loathe?
