Hi all, friendly reminder that there are dozens of places participating in stage 3 trials and if you are able, please consider enrolling in the trials.
I got home about an hour ago from my first vaccine trial visit. Took about 3 hours because we had to go through paperwork, etc, too.
Aside from a 2 minute physical (height, weight, temp, blood pressure, checking breathing and glands), it entailed getting a covid19 test (booooo the dreaded nose swab), drawing 8 vials of blood (baseline immuno stats), and then a shot of either placebo or the Moderna vaccine.
I will have to do a nightly health check on an app on my phone for a week. In 30 days I go back for a 2nd shot and another round of blood draws. And then another visit I think a month after that with more blood draws. All in all, there are like 7 office visits (all with blood draws) and like 14 phone calls over the course of 24 months. None of the later visits will take more than an hour and a half.
Anyhoo, if you have any questions about the side effects that are possible, etc, hit me up in the comments.
