I know I just posted, but a friend on FB shared this piece from Bitch Magazine regarding cultural appropriation of food and I felt it was important to share. The full comic is quite long and is in the linked source, but it's an important read.

I run into this issue a lot being a minority from an immigrant family. Growing up, my food culture was always weird to other people. In fact, I was so overly concerned about fitting in as a kid that my diet quickly consisted of mostly pizza. So to see that food I grew up eating now being heralded and becoming borderline exoticized, it leaves me with a weird feeling that I just can't describe. The comic and accompanying article do a great job of verbalizing what I just can't.
