So I just called the recruiter from the company I really want to work for. I was nervous as hell, so I wrote up a little script of what to say. Here's my post from late last night. For context.
I ended up leaving her a voice mail message, and TOTALLY went off-script. Then I nervously added, at the end, after explaining why I was calling, "well, there you have it." Then I added a "thank you, bye" at the end. As soon as I hung up I was repeating "dammit! Dammit! Dammit! Dammit" but now I'm laughing and face-palming at my nervous awkwardness right now.
Anyone have any good stories about awkward gaffes that they committed while trying to be professional? Help me feel a little but better here, guys.
