DC had some shitty weather this weekend - first it snowed, then it rained, then it warmed, then it got ridiculously cold again. Now everything is made of super slick ice and the sidewalks are treacherous.

I slipped two feet after leaving my house and twisted my bad knee (the one I'm going to need surgery on this summer).

A kind soul helped me home and, while I should probably stay home and off my knee as much as possible, I have a TON of shit to do at work that only I can do and that needs to be done today. Including wade through some delicate office politics.

I've already sent an email to my manager saying I'll be late, but now I'm sitting here with ice on my throbbing knee (having just preemptively taken painkillers to help with swelling), feeling sorry for myself and my messed up ligaments and cursing the stupid weather. And neighbors who don't put salt down.

at least it was the messed up knee that's already messed up and not my "good" knee. Silver linings, I guess.

I'm already done with Monday and it's only 9 in the morning. Uggghhhhh.
