About a year and a half ago, the week after we broke up, the Abusive Asshole used a joint credit card we had to buy a $2000 laptop. I didn't even know he could do this. It was one of those cards you get when you buy furniture, where it's no interest for 6 months but if you don't pay it off it all hits at once. I thought it was a one-time deal, for the furniture, which I paid off. When I found out what he'd done, I tried to get the credit card company to reverse it but no luck. He promised he'd pay it off within the 6 months. (I obviously closed the card.)

Well, he didn't pay it off within 6 months. He kept making minimum payments until April, when I took him to court for some other money he owed me. Then he stopped paying. I threatened him with another lawsuit and he recommenced paying. Except this month the payment bounced. Unsurprisingly, considering I got a call from another of his creditors yesterday. I did some research and realized he's lost his job sometime in the last month. So now I have to deal with a $1600 bill for something I don't own, and probably take him to court again, except now I don't know where he lives, what car he drives, or where he works (if anywhere).

Great way to start this fuck it Friday off right, universe. Thanks.
