The bots and I packed up our bags on December 25 and traveled across the mountain to check into a hotel. I thought, "Let's get over there early and we can have dinner in town instead of trying to make something at home before our trip." Smart, yes? No. Because on Christmas Day, the only place open is Waffle House. Ugh. My cheese grits were yummy, and full of those awesome rubbery bits from where they've stuck to the bottom of the pan and then gotten stirred up into the mass of grits. Yessssssss. They were also buttery and greasy as hell and my belly was NOT happy with me. The Bots have vowed to never return to Waffle House for their bellies were not happy with them, either.

We then went back to the hotel and watched Doctor Who and went to sleep. We got up in the morning, got breakfast at the hotel, and after several false routes (Siri, you have failed me!) we found the train station. Parked, got all the bags out of the car, paid for parking for a week, got to the depot just as the train was pulling in, got on, found three seats, and settled in. We watched as the train started moving out, and I realized that my phone was sitting in the cupholder of the car, where it had been so Siri could give me erroneous instructions. Sigh. Such facepalm. Very disappoint. So annoy. Wow.

So now we are here in NYC, having much family togetherness. We have been staying in my brother's apartment with my parents, and have seen one uncle and his family as well as one aunt and her family. We see another aunt and her family tonight. And my brother and his family return on Monday. Such family. So together. Wow.

I will miss most of the family together dinner tonight because MY BROTHER AND HIS WIFE GOT ME AN HOUR AND A HALF THAI MASSAGE THAT IS SCHEDULED FOR THIS EVENING OMG I WILL NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING AFTER THAT!!
