Maybe sense the tone and realize that, if I'm no longer getting paid a consultant fee to help you sort out the job you took from me*, it's time to try and just sort that shit yourself.
*I fully recognize that this is not the same situation as someone else just getting hired over me - a publishing company thought they could find a cheaper way of doing the work that I do for them, and now the cheaper person they found, surprisingly, has no training or experience in the area. So while newbie can't directly help the fact they're in way over their head... I'm having a hard time mustering up the time or energy to help out, just out of the kindness of my heart.
Given I'm now into the teacher lean months, I was really planning on that editing contract to help me through the summer, and I'm not feeling too generous at the moment.
