No, not the movie (although I really want to see it), just a query to my melanin-deficient brethren brought on by listening to Azealia Banks' new album (especially 212). When you're singing along to an awesome song and the black artist says the n-word, how do you cover? I usually just don't say it, but with 212 especially, you can't just skip a word and keep the flow of the song. I also have this problem with Nicki Minaj sometimes (especially "Lookin Ass," which is an awesome song that I will never play in public or sing along to). I feel like this lies under the "realize this art was not made for you and accept that you won't be able to participate as fully as the black people it was made for" but I thought I'd see if anyone had a better idea.
