Welcome To The Bitchery

Decisions, decisions...

So, I live in a two bedroom apartment and have to make some quick decisions about the new baby due in 8 weeks. I have a bassinet someone gave me for the first boy, I think he outgrew it in about 4-6 weeks. Since it was just him in the second bedroom, it would only bother my husband and me if he cried when he woke up in the night.

We're going to set up the crib in the second bedroom and I'm wondering if I should get a pack and play because I don't know if the baby's crying is going to really bother my oldest. He could sleep in our room in the pack and play after he outgrows the little bassinet during that whole 'I wake up every 2-3 hours at night' stage and then sleep in the crib during the daytime.

Should I get a pack and play or do you think he could be fine in the crib sharing a room at night with his 3 year old brother? Are 3 year olds really bothered that much by baby cries? I thought I knew what I was doing with the second baby coming but I'm starting to second guess myself a lot. I don't want to get more stuff if I can get away with it but I also don't want the whole house to be miserable and crabby (crabby toddlers are no fun).
