Let’s do a quick gut check
concerning just some of the things at stake (because the #WhiteWing wants to
deluge us with so much evil that we’re perpetually afraid and confused, and …
nah to that)
also said something the other day on Deadline White House, when contrasting political styles of the parties the other day that gave me pause but helped me understand why, having been in some national rooms where the stakes couldn’t have been higher, that gave me some startling clarity as to why The Dems have been balking and therefore losing, for YEARS, when they had had the chance to raise hell and win, and instead retreated into shrinking and mumbling, all while scrabbling to try to frame that as “civility”.
Which, yeah. Y’all already know what I think of that sop
And JHeil helped me. The answer is: The misunderstanding, on the part of @TheDemocrats, of the use (not abuse) of power.
Dear Leadership: The difference between good Democrats and (evil) Republicans canNOT and SHOULD NOT be the willingness to use power.
Some so-called “Leadership” wimps are stomping around saying “No no no – we speak civilly, we are gentlemen of Harvard, we don’t use power in that way, bladhy blahdy.”
This is the problem. What is happening is that your behavior is saying “the difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Republicans will use power and Democrats are focused on policy” – and this false equivalence is why they are running over you (#DaLeadership) with all the force of a supertanker and leaving you in the shape of laid asphalt.
The difference is that Republicans will wield power for power’s sake – as the most recent example in North Carolina should attest to the point where it pulled the most hesitant potential power-wielder up WAY short – and will literally stop at nothing (nothing; do you hear me?? NOTHING) in their efforts to try to keep it.
contrast - what SHOULD be happening is that Democrats DO have power and need to
use it *to enforce the will of the people*.
start doing that. Big difference in

each other. Do not fall for the
More like it. Time, and way past it. (Especially WRT those illegal jails meant to enrich Russians and TRE45ON cronies, and literally straight out of the Mein Kampf playbook.)
On topic - just your pre-debate reminder that Hope Hicks and Don McGahn (and, you know, really, Billy Barr and Wilbur Ross, both of whose middle names should be “Abuse of Power”) should be in Congress jail right now until such time as they agree to put on their big kid pants and get in front of the relevant House committees under oath.
Thank you very much.
