Are you quarantining yourself from the onslaught of punditry like I am, and taking self-preservation methods to survive tomorrow? If so, what are your havens?
I’ve been on a week-long Facebook hiatus, avoiding certain sites, muting commercials, etc. And tomorrow I plan to work from home (after voting, natch), then do laundry and watch movies in the evening, because there’s no point in gluing myself to the punditry; we are at the Que Sera, Sera point of this election.
I’ve been reading more, which is great. I went to the library and got a bunch of awesome soundtrack CDs, so that’s fun to work through music such as Broadway shows I haven’t seen (If/Then, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Once) and familiar movie/TV scores (The Princess Bride, Sunset Boulevard, Anna Karenina, Downton Abbey, The Queen).
I am an informed voter, so my head is not in the sand in that regard. But I just cannot participate in the media circus, you know what I mean? What are you doing to protect your sanity?
