I'm not sure if I liked this movie. After watching Burn After Reading, I think a few people mentioned Fargo and I decided to watch it today.
I expected some dark humor similar to that of BAR, but found a lot of darkness and not much humor. I'm not sure if the humor we are supposed to find is in these people's accents, because that's about the extent of humor I got from the movie. And before anyone says anything else, I do see some of the running gags like people commenting on Steve Buscemi's looks and things like that. I think I tried to search for the humor but the humor is built in only slightly? I guess I was going into it thinking it was more humorous that in it was. Not too sure.
I feel like this movie and BAR are good movies about stupid people who do stupid things and never do things in time and almost everyone pays the consequences. I get the moral of the story, but I don't know, something feels off.
I feel kind of like how I felt after watching Black Swan: not too sure, kinda good, and kinda bad. I watched Black Swan in theaters and it's been 4 years and I'm still trying to figure out if I like that movie. Maybe I should watch it again and decide. Maybe I need to do the same for Fargo in another 4 years.
Edit: Yeah I'm a dark humor person and I didn't see any of that here. The humor I saw was more running gag type humor. I think this movie may have simply not translated for me well.
Anyway, enjoy my confused GIFs that kinda sum up how I feel about this movie right now:
