Federal Judge Strikes Down Utah Same-Sex Marriage Ban

Needless to say, this is major. It could be the Loving v. Virginia of same-sex marriage.

"The state's current laws deny its gay and lesbian citizens their fundamental right to marry and, in so doing, demean the dignity of these same-sex couples for no rational reason," wrote U.S. District Court Judge Robert J. Shelby. "Accordingly, the court finds that these laws are unconstitutional."

Utah's in the 10th Circuit, which isn't really known for its progressive agenda. I imagine the state will appeal it to the full panel, and whatever decision they make will get to the Supremes.
