tury ago my great-great grandmother took up some of her precious covered wagon space with a peony plant. That plant is still alive and producing flowers. When I went to visit my great-aunt this weekend, she handed out flowers to all of us.
My great-aunt has the original now (though it’s been moved a few times), and both my dad and my uncle have cuttings from “The Homestead Peony”. Someday, when I’m in a more permanent place, I hope to get my own cutting of it.
