How do they work? (Some weight talk in here)

I have an update on my marriage, but I'm just not up for thinking about it right now. The gist: everybody will be fine. We still need to talk some shit out.

BUT TODAY. Today I decided to hunt down a pair of jeans. In the past year, I've lost a pretty significant amount of weight. I've reached the point where I'm solidly in the size jeans that I was before I had kids. The jeans I've been wearing fit okay for an hour or so if they're fresh outta the dryer, but get baggy and not so flattering after that. I was pretty excited to get some new jeans that would make me feel good about myself since I have really not been feeling that way lately. News of all news, jeans shopping did not make me feel good about myself. I went to 5 or 6 stores and tried on a bunch of jeans and some other pants and they were mostly simultaneously too big and to small at the same time. The fact that it's near impossible to find jeans that aren't skinny fit is not helping. My legs are thick, my waist is not, and most jeans are not designed for that type of body. Naturally, the two pairs that didn't make me feel totally awful were like $80. I cannot afford $80 jeans.

I feel so much better in my body now, I'm eating better and exercising a lot. I feel good and I want the clothes I wear to reflect that and I fucking can't find anything that works with my body. I've also spent a few months an a fair chunk of change trying to get some bras that work for me too. I found two DKNY bras in my closest sister size for $9 on clearance at TJ Maxx. That was $9 for both of them. Not a perfect fit, but these bras are so soft and that's goddamned cheap. It was simultaneously awesome and made me want to scream. Why is this so much work?!

I'm open to ideas about jeans. I know TBataar swears by Loft jeans, but I couldn't find any bootcut in my size when I was there, so I don't even know. The jeans that fit me best today were Democracy at Rack and some at Express. The Gap curvy bootcut have a good fit for me, but they just have an older person feel to them that I'm tired of. Currently wearing a style of Levi's that they no longer make, but Levi's usually gap pretty bad in the waist for me. Halp.
