Honestly, I'm not sure what the point is. "Next up at 10 - Do designers hire people based on looks?" A majority of designers' clientele are white, so white models probably sell clothes better than other models (or at least, that is what past research has shown). Plus, models on the runway tend to be glorified coat hangers. Designers want people to focus on the clothes, which means changes in looks might be distracting.

Now, I am not saying I agree with this, but there are many things about the models that designers hire that deserves critique. Race, weight, height - how about we just tell designers that they need diversity in all areas?
