We haven’t had a Good Things post in a looooong time.
But I know *my* mental health could use some positive things to try contradicting the continuous slog of crap right now.
And I’d bet that at least a few of y’all are in the same boat.
So let’s start sharing some *good* things we’re experiencing. They don’t need to be big. They can be TINY, just as long as they’re bright spots for you.
For those of you who want to play, but don’t want to share with the interwebs, you CAN play along at home, just by grabbing paper & something to write on, and finding 3 things per day, which made you happy/grateful/brought a smile.
It’s basically a type of gratitude journaling, and has been found over a six-week span, to be as effective as starting certain medications (I first learned about it through The Bounceback Project);
There’s good research, through Duke, Michigan, and iirc, Berkeley, on the science (I’ll attach links in the comments, because Kinja is Kinja), but it can be as simple as finding 3 TINY things that were good in your day, and thinking of them before you sleep.
So let’s try.
