I’m getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow! What are your best tips and experiences from when you had them out, GT? What is the one thing you wish you’d known or prepared for better? I know it varies quite a lot per person and situation, but I will take any advice you’ve got :)
Just so you know, I’m old to have them out (33), but they are all in and fully erupted and not impacted. They fit in my mouth and aren’t crowding, the issue is just that my mouth is so small I can’t get back there to clean them properly so they have cavities. So over all it should be just more like a general tooth extraction. I am NOT being sedated fully, but am doing laughing gas and driving home after - the oral surgeon gives oxygen afterwards to flush it out of your system even more.
What should I do, GT? What should I not do? In thanks for your advice I will tell you about how I left the first oral surgeon recommended to me because when I asked about my sedation options, he just chuckled and in an old Southern boy manner said “you just let me worry about your pain, I’ll make sure you’re okay” and never even discussed anything with me.
Bonus points for anyone who has the best comeback to anyone who makes the old “You seem a little stupider today.... I guess it’s because your WISDOM teeth are gone” type joke.
