Long time lurker and commenter here. I finally decided to write a post.
Hey everyone! I'm altercrazy. I'm from NYC and currently in college in Boston. My current plan is to be a lawyer dealing with patents and intellectual property. My favorite color is coral, my favorite ice cream favor is Talenti Tahitian Vanilla. My family is from the Caribbean and I'm 5 feet tall (well 4'11 and 3/4, but still). I have been lurking here for a while and it would be an honor to get to know you all more.
I also have an inquiry. In my area, there are a couple of restaurants that have survived despite high rents and the specter of gentrification (hasn't fully reached my area yet). But the funny thing is, the restaurants that survived are ones that no one and I mean no one goes to. And those have been the ones that have been around for years. So I'm wondering if A) those stores are possibly fronts for illegal crime and B) are there any other stories/examples of that in your own neighborhoods?
Interested to hear some :)
