kcunning is getting shit off her needles! (or at least she was a week ago) And encouraging all of us to do the same! So here I am! Getting shit off my needles and getting the Art Roundup UP and OUT! What else is getting done and out the door in GroupThink land? ( besides our awesome logo)
Doctor Who fan and flower lover Iron Mummy (Domestic Dork) displayed her work from her Floral Design class. I'm loving the pumpkin (whether it's real or not) and think it would be a GREAT way of incorporating the gourd for a few more weeks/months.
THIS IS GEOMETRICALLY GORGEOUS. Such acute design. mcstabbyoutodeathpants better not be obtuse with getting this project accomplished.
vee shared some GREAT work done with THESE AMAZING BRUSHES designed by an illustrator for the New Yorker. I am jealous for Photoshop and these digital skillz.
RemediosVaro comes out of the drawing darkness and asks "I can haz drering skillz?" Yes you can RemediosVaro. Yes you can. Search the comments for great resource recommendations. Everyone can draw. I swear it.
While you're searching for drawing books, check out the resources for beginning knit and crocheters! Mooncat82 wants candy (don't we all) asked for help and GT provided. The great thing about knit/crochet arts are that there are TONS of online resources (youtube, hello!?!). So if you need to see something OVER AND OVER AND OVER again to get it right (I still mess up stitches and then call it "free form"), you can do it online.
Fearsome Fluffycat made a sausage and peppers recipe that the Human LOVED!!! What's the only thing better? Fluffycat's REACTION to Human's reaction. Ah, cats with thumbs (or voice to text technology).
Professor Pinkushion showed us, through the eyes of the young'uns, that we are old and the line where analysis should STOP!!!! Sarah McLaughlin with the creepy sad music! Not Natalie Merchant! And WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF A WALKMAN!!!
(side note: I forgot how to spell McLaughlin's last name so I googled "sarah mcglockin")
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield did a contest for people dressing up as him! I think Joanbeam needs to combine that post with this (satirical) post about Hadfield heckling a screening of Gravity.
While this was used within the context of a costume, it's an awesome craft. And hey! Gnomes can be used year round! We Swedes have them ALL OVER THE PLACE for Christmas! Awesome is teh Katy del Monstre. Awesome.
OMG WITH THE CHRISTMAS ALREADY! But as my mother told me yesterday, "It's only six weeks away! It'll be here so quick!" So it's fantastic that MadamePiecesOfMyLover's mom let them know it's DIY presents this year! The ideas throughout the comments are GREAT and should be crafty manna from heaven for your DIY gifting soul!
