After having several short-term jobs at farms in Missouri and Michigan in previous years, I decided I wanted to try out something more long-term. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of long-term farm jobs unless you are a field manager, and I just don't have the experience for that. At any rate, about a month ago I found an opening at a farm in Chico, CA for a year-long field position, and I applied to it not really expecting anything to come of it. Well, I finally heard back from the owners today, and they want to (phone) interview me tomorrow evening. I have no clue if I'd actually take the job if it's offered to me, but the idea of moving to California makes me excited and scared in a good way.
