Evidently I swear at work too much.

As I was leaving work, I stopped by my supervisor's desk as I generally do, since she is ina different part of the office from me. Rather sheepishly, she said, "I have a question for you...I'm not sure how to put this. You've been dropping the f-bomb quite a bit."

A little background: I work in a fairly large office. I sit at a cubicle which is part of a set of six. Of the five people in the other cubicles, two swear just as much as me (always at our computer, NOT at one another or at other people). My desk is near the main entrance to the office so several people pass my desk frequently. But I suspect is the complaining party is a manger who sits at the next cubicle.

I assume this because she makes conference calls at her desk that her employees join in, so she is on speakerphone regularly. So I get that you wouldn't want to have "dammit you fucking idiot" floating over your discussion. On the other hand, she is incompetent and also I AM NOT THE ONE WHO MAKES OVERSEAS CALLS TO MY FAMILY DURING BUSINESS HOURS. And if it was her, could she not have just have said something to me directly? Oh, wait. No she couldn't have because she can barely manage her own employees.

Anyway, my supervisor was nice about it. She said, "I understand things are very frustrating right now. Just turn it down a little bit." I think she didn't want to bring it up because there are so many more important things to deal with. In addition, there is another manager who says "fuck" more than any other word. Usually very loudly. I try to keep it to a minimum but some days demand swearing. I guess it will have to be muttered swearing from now on.
