Things I learned:
Latkes are more fun to cook if you’re drinking rum
Non Jewish little kids will eat and enjoy latkes if you tell them they’re hashbrowns.
Latkes are still my eldest daughter’s favorite food. I swear she came over only because I was cooking latkes. Nah. She also came over because I made her a birthday cake equivalent out of orange milanos. (So Chanukah candles and birthday candles tonight)
ETA Is it sacreligious to light birthday candles with the shamash if you can't find the lighter?
