When i was looking up events that occured on my birthday, i got thinking about this year. It seems like there have been a lot more milestones that have occured in 2014 than in other years. Usually after a major event opccurs you hear about it on the one year anniversary but then nothing again until the 5th and then the 10th. For 9/11, there was a lot of coverage in 2002 but it got less and less until it rose again in 2011 for the 10 year anniversary. This website..

lists a bunch of the key historical anniversaries of 2014. Some of the highlights are 10 years since the launch of Facebook, 15 years since Columbine, 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall, 20 years since the death of Kurt Cobain and 40 year since Nixon resinged. In addition, not listed here is that it's the 70th anniversary of D-Day and thje 75th anniversary of Lou Gerigh's speech.

It seems like that's a lot more milestone anniversary's in one year than we usually get. I know every year will be an anniversary for something and usually it's the 5's and 10's that get mentioned. But for some reason this year seems to have a lot more of those than past years. Or has it been that way in the past and i just never noticed.
