I just finished it after laboring over it for more than a month. It was really, really hard for me to read — it's not that it wasn't interesting or well-written, I just thought it was intensely melancholy, especially as it reached its conclusion. It's being adapted into a movie, and supposedly it's going to come out later this year. While I'm curious as to how the premise of Death being the narrator will translate to the screen, I'm not sure I'll be able to watch as I'm certain I'll just cry my way through it. I can't believe this is a book for young adults. The Book Thief is a heart-breaker.
