I think I just did! Basically, this company wants to hire me, but they have fees associated with moving through the application process. The original email seemed so spammy, and after a bunch of back and forth with me clarifying that they actually want people to pay to apply, I wrote an email explaining to the manager why I'll pass. I politely told him that my experience makes the fees unnecessary.* Plus, (I didn't put this in the email) it rubs me the wrong way that an organization designed to serve low-income people has financial hoops they want you to jump through.
Today's lesson: Know your worth! Anyone else have any badass emails to share?
*I'm being vague, but imagine if someone wanted you to prove you could use Microsoft Word by purchasing the Office suite. That kind of unnecessary.
