So I’m eligible to sign up for health insurance through my job now. It’s through Blue Cross. I’m in Texas and have no children, thus I’m ineligible for any discounts on healthcare.gov exchanges because of the state’s refusal to expand Medicaid, even though I’m below the poverty line. (Fuck you in the ear, Abbott.)
It’s $237.53 a month for a gold level plan- relatively low office visit copays but higher deductible. Is this average? Is it worth it? Help me adult please. I only go to the doctor a few times a year for medication refills and when I get the occasional virus or allergies. I have been relying on the university health center which was free to students, but I’m no longer a student, so this is a thing I need to sort out.
