So in the past 6-8 weeks, I’ve fallen into a bit of a depression. This is very, very new for me as I have no history with it at all (though between my husband and brothers I am quite familiar with it). I feel like I have zero coping skills for even the smallest things that come up. It sucks, as I’m sure many of you are aware. I didn’t recognize it for a while until I put 2 and 2 together and realized that this mood change happened right around the time I weaned my daughter. Then I figured, “well, I’ve been pregnant or breast-feeding for about five years now. That’s got to do something to your hormones.” I’m optimistic and hopeful, therefore, that this is temporary, but in the meantime it’s the pits. for some reason, about 2 weeks into it I couldn’t fight the urge to run. And I hate running. I mean, really, really, really hate running. But a funny thing happened: it makes me feel amazing now. In fact after I run, I am good for about 36 hours in terms of mood. So I know the whole “have you tried diet and exercise? “ thing CERTAINLY doesn’t work for everyone, but it works wonders for me.


ANYWAY. I found a great trail near my house (I’ve posted about it before) and I’ve gotten to the point that I can actually run about 90% of a 2.5 mile run (which is huge for me). BUT: doing it every day is not good on my ankles. So I need to find a good exercise to do every other day because if I only go every other day and do nothin in between I am in rough shape towards the end. Here’s where it gets tricky...

-Must be done at home.

-I do not own gym equipment, cannot afford it, and do not have space for it.

-I need something primarily cardio

- it needs to be about 30-45 minutes long

- I really would love to steer clear of anything that’s focused primarily on how hot I will look in a bikini. If I lose weight from this, not gonna lie, that would be cool, but listening to an overly chipper or aggressive instructor tell me about how hot I should be looking will just make me angry.


So. Suggestions?! YouTube videos? Fun regimens? Thanks in advance!
