So Boyrax and I are going home for a month soon, and we have all these random perishable ingredients that will go bad if I don't use them and I need to come up with 4 more meals. Do GTers have any ideas for things that can be made with these things without buying more perishable ingredients (I mean I'm willing to buy them but not a whole bunch of parsley when I only need a tiny bit, so then I have to use that up too)?
- Grated cheddar cheese
- Celery (this can only be really well-cooked)
- 2 limes
- Thinly sliced ham
- Loaf of bread (tbh this has been in the fridge forever, not sure if it's still good)
I also have some ingredients that I can freeze/aren't going to go bad before we come back that gives me some options.
- Flaked mashed potatoes
- Leftover turkey
- Frozen chicken breasts
- Turkey stock
- Cream cheese
- Frozen ground sausage (just a bit)
- Frozen brats
- A bit of frozen spinach
- Chicken noodle soup
- Baked beans/black beans/kidney beans/diced tomatoes/sweet peas
Then the basics for cooking - oils, sugar, flour, etc. The stuff that will last I'm not worried about using, I'd just really like to use up as much of that first list as possible so I didn't waste money on it before we leave. Figured GT might have some ideas!
