Yup, the office crush is back from his two week vacation...When I looked at the out of office calendar and saw that he hadn't scheduled himself off on this Friday I thought 'Oh, he just didn't fill out the dates right... no one comes back from a trip over seas and returns to work for one day before a three day weekend...."
Yeah, I know, I don't get it either. I don't know what his fly-in/out days were but I don't think I'd be coming into work for one day before a three day holiday??? I only really saw him once in passing, no chance to strike up a convo. Sad kitten.
In other news, I got an informal and not positive review from my technical lead. It's not anything I can't improve on but it's definitely disappointing and frustrating. Apparently I made this incredible first impression on a project that I consider a fluke and since then I've just been...not always a good communicator according to her (I also 'work to fast' == I rush through a project, think I'm OK with everything and then put the brakes on at the last minute...not a good habit). I am pretty sure the problem is more in the manner of how I process things... and I think I can do what needs to be done...but still, not something one wants to hear only three months into a new job. On the other hand, it's totally fixable, I am happy to be given a clear indication of a path to go towards and time to work on it. Again, it's an awesome job and I really like all of my co-workers (not just the one :)
